Bag Beaded Iroquois Red Trim
This antique Beaded Iroquois Bag with Red Trim is an nice find! The artist sewed two beaded dark brown velvet panels together for the exterior of the purse. They then used more brown velvet for decorative flaps on the front and back. They added beadwork onto the velvet, using variety of seed beads to create floral designs and borders on the front and back. Colors include White, Green, Pink, Rose, Blue, Turquoise, Teal, Mustard and Clear. The artist added clear seed bead tassels to the bottom of the bag. A red ribbon lines the opening of the bag and a small pocket can be found under the flap. Circa late 1800’s to early 1900’s, this purse is in good condition with no moth damage to the velvet and minimal bead loss.
This Purse measures 7 3/4″ long by 6 1/2″ at its widest point.
