A wampum bracelet is a piece of traditional Native American jewelry crafted from wampum beads. Makers typically string these bracelets with leather, sinew, or plant fibers and create intricate patterns that highlight their artistry and skill. Native artisans originally shaped beads from the shells of Quahog clams and whelk, and communities across Northeastern North America used these beads to make necklaces, belts, armbands, and clothing decorations.
