Painted and Beaded Northern Plains Style Pipe Bag
Store your favorite pipe with this one of a kind Pipe Bag Northern Plains Style. The crafter made it with Braintanned Deerskin Leather. He painted both sides green with painted handprints. They are red on one side and yellow on the other. He used lazy stitch to create a beaded strip on one side of the bag with White, Transparent Navy Blue, Yellow and White Center Red Seed Beads. On the bottom, he created a beaded panel using lazy stitch. This design features White, Yellow, Navy Blue and a different stock of White Center Red Seed Beads.
Below this, you will find a section of beaded fringe. The beaded panel features small reproduction Wampum Beads in White, Black, Blue, Red and Yellow. Twelve inches of painted Deerskin Leather fringe hangs from the bottom of this panel. At the top, the crafter added tab fringe. He painted the leather yellow and added red and black triangular designs to each tab. A piece of Braintanned Deerskin Leather Lacing serves as a tie to hold the bag closed.
This Pipe Bag Northern Plains Style measures 16 inches x 6.5 inches, not including the beaded fringe. The beaded panel and fringe measures about 14 inches long for an overall length of about 30 inches. One of a Kind!
