 Native American Pottery

Native American potters in the Southwestern United States make traditional style pottery. Their pottery usually features very thin walls, a desirable characteristic. Many of these artists create their pottery using hand coiled techniques. They often use slip colors in Black, White and dark Red.

This Pottery Vase Fluted Rim stands approximately 5.5 inches tall.  The slightly flared top opening measures 1.75 inches in diameter.  The width of the pot extends to about 3.5 inches.    We got this piece from a collection.  You will notice that sections of this piece are darker than others, that probably happened during firing.  You will also see places where the paint has chipped off, notably on the rim. Structurally it is in good condition. One of a Kind!
