Pottery Bowl Braided Handle

This polychrome Pottery Bowl Braided Handle features an attached handle. It will make a unique addition to your collection.  Or use it to hold dry flower arrangements or small items. The potter created it with terra cotta colored clay.  They covered it with a buff colored slip.  Then the potter painted geographic designs on the sides. The potter also painted the outside of the handle and the rim of the pot with black.

This bowl stands 6 inches tall (not including the handle) and the opening measures 4.75 inches in diameter. The base measures about  3 inches in diameter. The Braided Handle has been repaired. You will see dust, small scratches and signs of wear. There is a label on the bottom, but over time it has rubbed off.  One of a Kind.

Native American Pottery

Native American potters in the Southwestern United States make traditional style pottery. Their pottery usually features very thin walls, a desirable characteristic. Many of these artists create their pottery using hand coiled techniques. They often use slip colors in Black, White and dark Red.
