One of a Kind.
Peyote stitch, also known as gourd stitch, is one of the most popular and versatile techniques in bead weaving. Crafters use it to create intricate jewelry and decorative items. The stitch gets its name from its traditional use in Native American beadwork, often associated with peyote ceremonies. In peyote stitch, beads are added one at a time in a specific sequence to form rows. The result is a strong and flexible piece that can be flat or tubular, depending on the project. The peyote stitch allows for a lot of creativity, as it can accommodate intricate patterns, color variations, and different shapes. It’s a fundamental technique in bead weaving and a favorite among jewelry makers.
