Navajo Sandcast Concho Belt

This fabulous  Belt- Navajo Sandcast Concho features ten sandcast conchos each set with a Turquoise stone.  The crafter made this piece in the 1940s–1950s and attached copper loops to the back of each sandcast concho so the leather could slide through.  Each concho measures 3.5 inches x 2.25 inches.  The belt measures approx. 34 inches long and includes an extra 12 inches of black strap leather tucked on the back, allowing you to widen the fit. The copper shows natural oxidizing on the strap leather, adding authentic age and character.

Combining traditional Navajo silversmithing techniques with the beauty of Turquoise, this vintage concho belt is both a striking wearable accessory and an outstanding addition to any collection of Native American jewelry or Southwestern art.

One of a Kind.

Navajo silversmiths have used the sand-casting technique since the late 1800s, carving a design into fine sand to create a one-time mold for molten silver. Because each mold is used only once, every sandcast concho has subtle variations that make it truly unique and showcase the artisan’s skill.
