Antique Montagnais-Naskapi Moccasins
These gorgeous antique moccasins come from the turn of the 20th century. The crafter made them in a Montagnais Eastern Canadian style. He or she used Braintanned Deerskin Leather to make these soft sole moccasins. The crafter added a vamp and cuff made of dark blue wool. He or she added floral designs using White Center Red, Pumpkin, Pony Trader Blue, Crow Pale Blue, Cobalt Blue and White Seed Beads. The edge designs feature Clear Red, Clear Green and Turquoise Seed Beads. You will love the beautiful toe puckering.A previous owner wore these moccasins, but they remain in very good condition. Some of the bead work has been repaired. The Braintanned Deerskin Leather Lacing remains intact. You will see a couple of tiny holes in the wool, and one on one of the moccasins.
These moccasins measure approx. 9" long x 3.5" wide. They stand 2.75" high at the cuff.
These Montagnais-Naskapi moccasins will make a fabulous addition to a beadwork or moccasin collection.
