Men’s Red Seminole Jacket

Add this Jacket Seminole Red to your collection or try it on for size! Bright bands of patchwork and rickrack decorate this cotton jacket. Yellow rickrack decorates the front plackets.  Gussets under the arms make the arms more like a bat-wing for easier fit.  There are no buttons or zippers on it.  This jacket is not lined, so you will see all the stitching from the piecework on the inside.

Seminole people of what is now Florida have been creating colorful patchwork clothing since the early 20th century. Some of the patterns represent particular concepts or natural phenomena. The Seminoles continue to create distinctive patterned clothing today.
This jacket measures 23 inches long from neck to waist and 21 inches wide lying flat. The sleeves measure 20 inches long with a4 inch wide cuff. The size is a Men’s Small/Medium.  A previous owner wore this jacket.  You will see a couple of stains on the front. It remains in very good wearable condition.   One of a Kind!
