Pipe Bag Antique Blackfoot Style
Pipe Bag Antique Blackfoot Style
Get your hands on this fabulous Antique Blackfoot Style Pipe Bag! We believe the crafter created this bag around 1890. He used Italian Seed Beads in Turquoise, Yellow, Clear Green and Black. He used Lazy Stitch to create a diamond geometric design on both sides of the Pipe Bag. For the Bag itself, the crafter used Braintanned Deerskin Leather which is very, very soft.At the top, he added 6" of Fringe. He also beaded around the top of the Pipe Bag with the Turquoise, Yellow, Black and Clear Green Seed Beads. You will find a small hanging loop attached to the top of the bag. On the bottom, the crafter added a panel of 12" long Fringe.
This Pipe Bag remains in very good condition for its age. You will see some bead loss, and breaks in the fringe. Staining and dirt also appear on the Leather and the Beads. Because of its age, it is rather fragile, so you will want to keep this Pipe Bag for display, rather than use.
The Pipe Bag measures approximately 20" long. The beaded panel measures 6" across at the widest point. The Bag measures 4" across above the beaded panel.
