Moccasins -  Antique Transitional Style

This pair of antique moccasins combines an older style cuff with a newer style vamp.  The crafter may have added the previously made wool cuff to the moccasins.  We believe these moccasins were made around 1890.
The cuff features older style geometric designs using 14/0 and 18/0 beads.  The crafter beaded the red wool cuff with Cobalt Blue, White and Pony Trader Blue seed beads.  Then trimmed it with red and yellow fabric.  The ribbon that holds the cuff together is torn.
The vamp features 8/0 Pony Beads on black or brown velveteen.  The colors include Cheyenne Pink and White Center Red alongside White, Clear, and White Center Clear. Additional beads come in Greasy Yellow and Arapaho Green.  Two rows of 13/0 White Beads line the floral design.
The crafter used Top Grain leather in a nice Tobacco brown for these moccasins.  Additionally, a polished cotton fabric in a matching brown color lines the moccasins.  Furthermore, the crafter made an excellent toe pucker.
These Moccasins measure  8.75" long x 3" wide.  They measure 3.5" to the top of the cuff.
You will see some worn spots on the cuff and bead loss on both the cuff and the toe.  A previous owner wore these moccasins, but we offer them as a collectible only.
