Antique Iroquois Beaded Box Purse Whimsy
A Native American crafter created this Iroquois Beaded Box Purse Whimsy as a tourist souvenir in 1938. The Antique Iroquois Beaded Box Purse Whimsy features beaded designs on velveteen on all four sides. It is a classic example of the Beaded Whimsy tourist souvenirs. Native American crafters in the border regions between Canada and the United States at the turn of the 20th century created many of these whimsies for the tourist trade. The larger sides of the box feature beaded Rabbit and flower designs. The smaller sides sport a plant and the the year 1938. It comes with a beaded loop for hanging or carrying.
