Antique Cree Beaded Bag
Antique Cree Beaded BagFall in love with this delightful Antique Cree Beaded Bag! Small enough to hold a pocket watch, it is ready to join your beadwork collection! You will find the tiny 14/0 and 18/0 Seed Beads amazing!
We believe this Antique Cree Beaded Bag comes from around 1900. The contoured design and the abstract floral design are typical for this period. Because the beads are so small, the crafter used the 2 Bead Applique method to apply the Beads. He or she used Cobalt Blue, Cheyenne Pink, White, Pony Trader Blue, Turquoise, Clear Red and Clear Seed Beads.
The main part of the beadwork remains intact, but you will see bead loss around the edges. The silk tassel and the bottom has broken off. Some of the edge binding has come off. We are not sure if this bag originally came with a handle. The interior fabric lining has a couple of holes.
The bag measures 3" x 2.75".
