Breastplate Bone 33 rows
This Breastplate Bone 33 rows will be your new favorite accessory! The crafter made this Breastplate with Antiqued 4″ Bone Hairpipe. He used Brown Strap Leather Spacers to divide the sections. Then he lined both sides with Transparent Green crow beads. He lined the middle section with Transparent Red and Transparent Light Blue Crow beads. At the center, he attached 3 gorgeous 2″x 2″ heart shaped Conchos centered with red imitation Skunk Beads. Hanging from the center of each concho, you will see drops with brass beads and deer dew claws . 6″ long Deerskin Leather Lacing fringe hangs from both sides. The neckline is wrapped in a red fabric over deer skin lacing, so you will not be able to adjust it. The Neckline measures 10″ long x 7.5″ wide. The Breastplate measures 9.5 inches wide and 13 inches long. One of a Kind!
The Comanche Indians are considered the originators of the Hairpipe Breastplate. They first created Breastplates in the mid 19th century. Other Groups of the Great Plains adopted this accessory as well. The term “Hairpipe” describes the long, slim, hollow beads made from animal bone that we use to make Breastplates.
