Cradleboard- Doll

This Vintage Cradleboard- Doll is ready for display in your home!  It is in remarkably good condition for its age.  The crafter used Willow wood to make the frame and visor.  Willow wicker splints weave between the visor and frame splints. The crafter added a Gold Deerskin Leather covering, with Deerskin Leather Lacing to hold it together in the front.

The crafter added rows of beadwork to the top and sides in Red, Turquoise and Royal Blue.  A three dimensional star design of cut Seed Beads in Royal Blue and Opalescent White appears on the top.   The crafter also created a three dimensional beaded edge on the visor.   On the wicker splints of the visor, the crafter wove strands of yellow and green yarn.   Fringed panels appear on the front and back of the piece.  The crafter added Black and opalescent White Tile Beads to the front fringe panels.  A piece of Deerskin Leather Lacing on the back provides a way to hang it for display.

The cradleboard comes with a tag that says Reno Nevada 1988 Paiute.  This Cradleboard measures 14″ long overall.  It varies in width from 5.25″ wide at the top to 2.5″ wide at the bottom.  The visor extends 4.5″.   One of a Kind!
