Group of Two Southwestern Papago Style Baskets
These Two Southwest Style Baskets are made with coils of grass and yucca and devil’s claw on the dark design. The flat round bases are very sturdy. The taller basket measures approx. 7″ in diameter and stands 4″ tall. The base is 5″ in diameter. The shorter basket measures approx. 8″ in diameter and 2.5″ tall. The base is 7″ in diameter. Papago weavers, also known as Tohono O’odham made this style basket to appeal to tourists traveling in the in the early 1900s.
These Two Southwest Style Baskets are in good condition with some damage to the rim of the taller basket. Use them for decorative storage or add it to your Basket collection!
