Basket- Large Ash Picnic

This vintage Basket- Large Ash Picnic with lid makes an attractive storage piece and a standout addition to any basket collection. The maker wove it with natural ash splints and splints dyed brown and navy‑blue to create a simple, classic design. A sturdy wooden handle makes the basket easy to carry. You’ll notice some fading on the colored splints along the exterior, and there are a few light stains from age and use.  The lid and bottom remain intact, though lightly dusty from storage. The bottom is signed “Harold E. Munson, Rio, Illinois,”.

The basket stands 11 inches high with the lid on (not including the handle) and measures an impressive 22 inches long by 15 inches wide. It came from a private collection and remains in good,  condition—solid, well‑crafted, and ready for display.
