Moccasins- Cree Style Youth

The crafter made these vintage Moccasins- Cree Style Youth in the 1940s to 1950s.  They used Braintanned Deerskin Leather and center‑seam construction with a raised vamp. They stitched the moccasins with thread. The vamp features a beaded design worked in transparent red, transparent blue, and black seed beads. The cuffs have a floral beaded pattern made with transparent amber, transparent blue, transparent red, and black seed beads. The crafter edged the vamp with twisted red embroidery floss and finished the cuffs with gray ribbon trim.

They measure 8 inches long, 3 inches wide, and 2.5 inches high. Because of their size and age, these moccasins are suitable for display only. Some of the stitching has come apart.  They would make a nice addition to any collection of Cree or Woodland‑style footwear.  One of a Kind!
