Loose Pheasant Feather Fan with Beaded Handle

The bright embellishments on this Fan Loose Pheasant Feathers make it a standout accessory!   The crafter made this loose Dance Fan with Pheasant Tail Feathers and a single Blue Macaw Feather.  He wrapped each quill with White Deerskin Leather and inserted them into a White Deerskin Leather pocket.   At the top of each feather he attached bright yellow and red hackles and dotted each with bits of white leather.   Each feather is fronted with bright blue feather tips – or a black and white one for the Macaw feather.   He attached two or three stamped silver bands to the quill of each feather.  Edge beading in Orange and Aqua Seed Beads tops the leather pocket.

For the handle, the crafter made a 5 inch long peyote stitch tube with 11/0 cut Seed Beads.  He used Royal Blue, Light Blue, Green, Cheyenne Pink, Alabaster, Yellow Orange, Orange, Red and Light Green Seed Beads to create the design.  Six inches of Twisted White Leather Fringe hangs from the bottom.  The handle screws on to the bottom of the fan.

This fan measures about 19 inches long not including the fringe.    This loose fan will make an expressive accent for dance regalia or a welcome addition to your collection.
