Women's Beaded Southern Plains Style High Top Moccasins

SOLD These Women’s Moccasins Yellow Beaded High Top are made in a traditional Southern Plains style. The crafter made them with amazingly soft White Braintanned Deerskin Leather.  He or she dyed the outside of the moccasins a bright yellow.  Then the crafter added lazy stitch beaded geometric designs on the side flaps and around the ankles of the moccasins. These designs stand out with brightly colored Cut Seed Beads in Periwinkle, Light Blue, Red Orange and Yellow.  On the front of the flaps, the crafter attached twelve   1/2 inch and twelve 3/8 inch Nickel Spots. Along the sides and bottom of the flaps, the crafter added three dimensional edge beading with sparkling Cut Red and Light Blue Seed Beads.
Around the ankles and down the heel, the crafter beaded more lazy stitch bands in Cut Light Blue, Periwinkle, Red, Orange and Yellow Seed Beads.  He or she added Rawhide to the bottom for soles.
We got these moccasins from a collection. A previous owner wore them.  You will see signs of wear and some soiling on the leather, especially on the bottom.  The beaded designs show places where it has loosened, but no bead loss.  You will find them nicely constructed and in wearable condition.  One of a Kind!
These Moccasins Yellow Beaded High Top measure about 9 inches long x 3.5 inches wide at the widest point.  They stand about 19 inches tall.  One of a Kind!
