Moccasins - Northern Plains Style
These contemporary beaded moccasins feature colorful geometric designs. The crafter made them from Braintanned Deerskin Leather. He or she added a rawhide soles to the bottom. The crafter created the beadwork design with Periwinkle, Brown, White, Red, Yellow-Orange, and Green Seed Beads. We think the crafter made them in the 1960s.These moccasins measure 9" long x just under 3.5" wide at the instep. (About a Women's size 6 - 6.5 or an older Child's 4 - 4.5). They stand about 2" high at the cuff.
A previous owner wore these moccasins. The Leather Lacing Ties remain intact. The Beadwork remains intact. The moccasins show soiling and staining but remain in good wearable condition.
