Horn Spoons Lot of Two
Lot of 2 Hand Carved Horn Spoons
Add these two natural Horn Spoons to your collection. They come with a card that says 'Rosebud Sioux' stamped Rosebud Sioux Handicrafts. 'Horn Spoon' and 'Red Buffalo' are handwritten on the card. The larger spoon as been glazed and the crafter added a painted red band to the lower handle. The crafter drilled a hole at the top for hanging, and added a Deerskin Leather Lacing loop with a beaded drop with horsehair at the end. It measures about 9.5" long. The bowl measures approximately 4" long x 2" wide.The smaller Spoon shows the natural coloration of black & ivory colors. It also comes with a hanging hole . The crafter added a Deerskin Leather Lacing loop that has a couple of old style Brass Beads on it. It measures about 4.25" long and 2" wide at the widest point.
Several Native American tribes created horn spoons from Sheep or Elk horn. They removed the outer part of the horn and carved it. Then they softened it in hot water to further modify the shape. Sometimes they decorated them with carvings.
These spoons are for decorative purposes. They are in very good condition. We are selling them as a set. One of a Kind!
