7″ Tall Acoma Style Pot

Make this Pottery Acoma Style the centerpiece of your collection!  The potter made it with traditional Acoma features.  They covered the pot in slip and created geometric designs with Black, White and Red colored slip.   They painted the upper portion of the inside and the bottom with red (a light orange-red) slip.  The potter did not sign the pot.  It stands 7 inches tall.   It measures approximately 7.5 inches wide at the widest point.  The top opening measures about 5.5 inches in diameter.

This pot came from a collection.  You will see places where the paint has worn off.  Structurally it is in very good condition.  One of a Kind!

Native American Pottery

Traditional Acoma pottery comes from the Pueblo in New Mexico. The pottery usually features very thin walls, a desirable characteristic. Most artists create their pottery using hand coiled techniques. They often use Black, White and Red slip colors.
