Antique Dance Sticks with Painted Horn Drops

This set of Antique Dance Sticks is an unusual find!  Made in a Northern Plains style, the crafter wrapped natural branches with Braintanned Deerskin Leather.  He used Deerskin Leather Lacing to attach cut pieces of horn that were dyed red to the sides.  At the bottom of each stick the crafter attached beaded Braintanned Deerskin Leather tabs.  One has transparent Amber and transparent Green Seed Beads.  The other has transparent Light Blue and transparent Green Seed Beads.  At the bottom of each, the crafter cut 5" of Fringe. The Dance Sticks were originally made with real Sinew, but repairs have been done with cotton thread.  They come with a tag that says R9-B SIOUX.
These Dance Sticks measure 24" long overall.  The Braintanned Deerskin Leather tabs with the fringe measure about 8" long.  You will see some bead loss on the tabs and some of the horn pieces have come off.  One of a Kind!
