Canoe Model Birchbark

Model Birchbark Canoe

This Birchbark Canoe Model will make a great display piece! Add it to your Native American craft display or as an accessory for a doll display. The artist created this from natural Birch Bark.  He or she attached wood splints to the inside and outside edges.  Someone tied thread around the splints on the ends to keep them in place.  On the bottom you will see a stamp that says 'MADE BY PENOBSCOT INDIANS'.   The Canoe will stand upright on its own.
Birchbark craft is a traditional form of art and craft that involves using the bark of birch trees to create various objects. Birch bark is a strong, durable, and flexible material that can be easily manipulated into different shapes and sizes.  This Model Canoe measures about 11.5" long and 2.75" wide.  This Canoe came from a collection.  You will see little bit of staining on the bottom. It is in good condition. One of a Kind!
