Canoe – Antique Elm Bark Model

Canoe - Antique Elm Bark Model
This charming Elm Bark Canoe Model will make a great display piece!  Add it to your Native American craft display or as an accessory for a doll display.  The artist created this from natural Elm Bark. We believe it is from the early 20th century.
Due to its age, previous owners took some measures to keep this canoe together. Originally held together with dyed Ash Splints, you will see spots where Deerskin Leather Lacing and colored thread help out.
This Canoe includes two cross braces and two wood seat backs.
It remains in  very good condition. The overall length measures 23". It stands 4" high in the middle. The widest point measures 4.5".
The Canoe will not stand upright on its own, but can be propped against something or placed on a base.
