Birchbark Container Serrated Edge

Handmade Birchbark Container with a Serrated Edge

Use this basic Birchbark Container for storage or add it to your collection. The crafter used Spruce Root to put the container together.  Then he or she cut out a serrated piece of Birchbark and attached it around the top of the container with more Spruce Root.  A piece of spruce branch adds stability to the top.   Otherwise, the crafter left the Birchbark in its natural state.
Birchbark containers are traditional containers made from the bark of birch trees. They are typically used by Indigenous people in North America for storing and transporting food, clothing, and other items.  This Container stands about 6″ tall.  The bottom measures 6.5″ x 5.5″.  The top opening is about 5.5″ x 5″.  This Container came from a collection. It is in very good condition. One of a Kind!
