To finish the flap, the crafter attached a piece of woven Red Wool Fabric to the edge. You will also see small slits that you can use to close the flap with some Deerskin Leather Lacing or other tying material.
At the bottom, you will see two plain tassels of Deerskin Leather Lacing. The back of the Tipi Bag remains undecorated.
Traditionally Native Americans used Tipi Bags to store items in their Tipis. The bands of beadwork are a typical design for these kinds of bags.
This Tipi Bag measures approximately 14" across x 8" top to bottom. A previous owner used this Tipi Bag, and it has been around awhile so you will see some discoloration in places. The leather has started to split on the inside.
This Tipi Bag will make a nice addition to your beadwork collection. You may also be able to use it for storage with care.
