Add this fabulous Antique Assumption Sash to your collection! The weaver made it with very fine yarn in Red, Navy Blue, Mustard Yellow and Natural colors. It measures approximately 72" long x 7" wide. The Fringe was originally braided, but has come unraveled. The remaining Fringe measures approximately 5" long.French Canadian women originally wove this type of sash in L’Assomption Quebec in Canada. The original pattern reflects belts worn by Iroquois Indians. Native Americans of many tribes wear similar sashes today.
You will see that this Sash has tears and missing fringe. Also you will see places where a previous owner has repaired some of the tears. We are selling this Sash as a collectible item. One of a Kind!
