Whimsy Needle Case
A crafter created this Whimsy Antique Needle Case to look like a pocket book. He or she used Amber Seed Beads, Amber Basket Beads, Brass Sequins and Black Tube Beads. The crafter added a twisted double strand of Amber Seed beads for the handle. At the bottom, you will find six beaded drops made of Amber Seed Beads and Basket Beads. A hook & eye clasp holds it closed.
The front shows a botanical design. On the back there is a three dimensional flower using the amber color beads and the black tube beads.
Crafters often create Whimsies with velveteen, but we can see no nap left on this fabric to suggest it was velveteen. The crafter lined the inside with polished cotton in a Red, Pink, and light green color.
The Whimsy Antique Needle Case measures 2 1/2″ high x 4″ wide, while closed, and 2 1/2″ wide x 6 ” long while open. There are no needle marks on the inside, so the previous owner did not use it to hold needles. You will see some signs of wear on the back and inside.
