Taos clay pottery is a distinctive form of traditional pottery that comes from the Taos Pueblo in northern New Mexico.  Native Taos crafters live on one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in North America. They create their pottery with simple, elegant forms and natural colors.   Crafters use traditional methods that involve coiling the clay rather than using a potter’s wheel.  Their work often features a soft, earthy hue due to the local clay used in its creation.

This Pottery Antique Taos Pitcher shows evidence of being used near an open flame with the dark smoke stains. The pitcher stands 10 inches tall and 8 inches in diameter at the widest point. The base  measures approximately 3 inches in diameter.  The top opening measures 5 inches  x 4 inches. You will find this piece in good condition for its age. The handle is intact.  One of a Kind!
