Whimsy Beaded Ladies Boot and Heart Pincushion
Crafters created these Beaded Heart and Boot Pincushion Whimsy using Clear Seed Beads around the edges and tassels.
For the center of the heart it has a raised floral pictorial design using clear, rose, teal and green lined basket beads. The heart has a small string for hanging.
The Ladies boot has a raised floral pictorial using clear, yellow, blue and green, seed beads . The red cotton fabric on the front of these pieces shows minimal wear, and the polished cotton back has some fading.
The Whimsies do have bead loss and fading on the fabric.
It is a classic example of the Beaded Whimsy tourist souvenirs. Native American crafters in the border regions between Canada and the United States at the turn of the 20th century created many of these whimsies for the tourist trade.
