Ash Basket with Multi Color Curls
Give this Multicolor Fancy Footed Ash Basket a special place in your collection! The basketmaker used Ash splints in Red, Yellow, and Green to make colorful curls around the side and lid of the Basket. For the lid, the basketmaker wove Sweetgrass strands among narrow Ash Splints. A small loop of wrapped Ash Splints make a handle for the lid. An additional foot piece flares out to provide a sturdy base for the basket.
This Basket measures 3.75″ tall with the lid on. The base is 3.25″ in diameter while the lid is 4.5″ in diameter. The previous owner stored this Basket very well, so the colored splints remain bright. One of a Kind!
