Hood Beaded Black

Dress up your dance outfit with this Hood Beaded Black with red trim. The crafter made this traditional Mic Mac style headwear with a combination of  Black and bright Red wool fabric. He used a wine color ribbon for the front and edge beaded it with white seed beads.  He added Blue ribbon trim with two rows of White Seed Beads to the top and back. Mint Green ribbon lined with White Seed Beads covers the seam between the wool pieces.

The top section features beaded Double Curve designs the crafter made with White, Red, Greasy yellow, and Light Blue Seed Beads. The crafter added another Double Curve design in White Seed Beads on the bottom section.  He lined the inside with a light purple block patterned fabric.  One of A Kind!

Native Americans from the Northeast wear peaked caps or hoods like these.  Crafters often decorate them with beads or ribbon work, but they can also leave them plain.  This Hood measures 17.5 inches to the top of the peak and 9.5 inches wide (lying flat).  This Hood Beaded Black is in new condition.  One of a Kind!
