Assumption Garters

Our woven Assumption Garters come from Canada. They are available in traditional colors and patterns.  They will make the perfect addition to your Native American or historical re-enactor regalia.

The Garters come in pairs. You wear them just below the knee to hold up your leggins. Each garter measures 2 inches wide and 3 feet long, not including the fringe.

French Canadian women originally wove garters and sashes of this type in L’Assomption Quebec in Canada. The original pattern reflects belts worn by Iroquois Indians. Many groups of Native Americans  wear similar sashes and Assumption Garters today.

Choose Red or Blue.

These are made of 60% Rayon, 32% Acrylic, 8% Polyester. Hand wash.
