Trade Beads Antique and Contemporary

The Wandering Bull Shop offers customers an large selection of antique trade beads.  Including but not limited to Chevron, Padre, Skunk or Eye Beads, Blue Russian Beads, Dogon beads and Venetian Millefiori Beads.

The word Millefiori is a Italian word meaning “thousand flowers.” This word refers to the multi-layered wound mosaic glass beads. Millefiori beads were were produced in Venice beginning in the early 1800’s. These beads were commonly traded and are known as “African trade beads.” Millefiori beads are produced by creating flowers or stripes from glass canes.  Then they were then moulded round  a core of solid color glass.  Then they are cut or broken into beads.
