“Each year we will Honor an Elder that has been sober and contributed to sobriety.
We honor our Elders because they teach us of many things. They teach us about Sobriety and to respect of all creations in the Indian way. They teach us to preserve Mother Earth and to put our clean moccasins on Mother Earth sober in a sacred manner.
Our Elders teach us to stay sober we the help of others. They are intricate survival to our sobriety. Elders teach us the truth which lies in our hands. Our Elders teach us handling life on life terms.
Our Elder’s experiences shared, the strength and hope they bestow onto the community.
This year we honoring John RunningDeer. John has been asset to and led sobriety by example. John was there from beginning of Red Road mtgs in his basement. John was instrumental with the start Red Road meeting at Dighton council hall since 1994.”
