The Cultural Survival Bazaar, a premier Indigenous Art Market and Festival, returns for only four days this holiday season – continuing a cherished local tradition spanning over 50 years. This vibrant marketplace connects visitors directly with Indigenous artists from five continents, offering an immersive experience filled with museum quality crafts, cultural foods, and live musical performances.

By shopping these multi-generational, handmade traditions, visitors discover unique global art while directly supporting the livelihood, community projects, and cultural preservation of Indigenous peoples worldwide.

The event offers a rare opportunity for the public to meet international artisans, participate in interactive dance and craft-making, and learn about diverse ways of seeing and being in the world.

Celebrate the season with family and friends by experiencing global talent firsthand while making a tangible difference in the world.

The Cultural Survival Bazaar, organized by the Indigenous-led nonprofit Cultural Survival, has served as a premier fair-trade festival for global Indigenous arts and culture since 1975.

What to Expect:

A Unique World-Class Marketplace: Shop one-of-a-kind jewelry, clothing, hand-knotted rugs, home goods, contemporary crafts and fine art directly from over 50 Indigenous artists and cooperatives.

Live Cultural Performances: Immerse yourself in the sounds and movements of the world with live music performances, storytelling, and traditional dance from internationally renowned Indigenous artists.

Hands-On Learning: Participate in exclusive features such as a portrait painting or jewelry making workshop.

Demonstrations: Enjoy a wide variety of demonstrations throughout the day.

Authentic Flavors: Choose from a variety of traditional dishes, delight in the taste of Northeast Indigenous cuisine, fresh beverages such as juices and coffee.

Direct Interaction: Meet the makers behind the art. Learn about “Indigenous cosmovisions” and the deep-rooted stories that make each item unique.

Family-Friendly Learning: Enjoy craft-making demonstrations and dedicated children’s learning areas led by cultural educators like Annawon Weeden representing the Mashpee Wampanoag, Pequot, and Narragansett Nations.

Why It Matters:

Your participation goes beyond shopping; it is a commitment to fair trade and Indigenous rights. These events generate nearly $500,000 annually for Indigenous artists and community-led projects, supporting self-determination and the revitalization of millennia-old tradition.
