Vest Beaded Meskwaki Style
Make a brilliant entrance at your next event with this Beaded Meskwaki Style Wool Vest! The seamstress used Rainbow Selvedge Edge Red Wool for the Vest. She stitched it all by hand. She used Applique Stitch to create the 9" x 8" beaded designs on the front and back. Then she attached three Loomwork Strips to the back. Two measure 15" x 1.5" and feature graduated ends in Black, Red, Light Blue, Pearl White, Purple, Royal Blue and Yellow Seed Beads. The strip along the bottom measures 26" x 1.5" and is made with Black, White, Yellow, Orange and Brown Seed Beads. The seamstress also added Sequins topped with White Seed Beads around the beaded designs and alongside the smaller Loomwork Strips.The Vest closes in the front with Selvedge Edge Wool Ties. The sleeves, neck and front opening are edged with white fabric. White Seed Bead zigzags appear around the neck.
The Vest is Extra Large. It measures 29" long and 23" wide when lying flat. The armholes measure 8.5" wide.
A previous owner wore this Vest. You will find it in excellent condition.
