This Antique Black top hat with a wool or felt ribbon around bottom. The stamp inside indicates that it came from the Delano company in Boston. The hat does have a napped fabric outside, which reminds us of beaver fur, but may be silk 'hatter's plush'. The inside lining looks like pale ivory silk.The brim not only curls up on sides but curls over on itself. A grograin ribbon lines the edges of the brim. It has faded on the top.
This Antique Top Hat is in good condition for its age. It does show some wear on the top and on the brim, as seen in the photos. The inside shows two worn spots and an ink stain. Someone wrote "7 3/8 - W - 67 - EK" on the inside.
This Top Hat will make a stylish addition to your Native American Dance Regalia or a perfect addition to your collection.
This hat measures 5.5" Tall. It measures nearly 12" from front to back and 9.75" across. The brim measures 1.75".
The opening for head measures 8" x 6.5". Size Large.
