This unique set originally included a lovely Quilled Box and a handcarved Soapstone Seal. The quilled box has a base of natural Birchbark. Natural and Green Porcupine Quills adorn the top and sides. The center of the top catches the eye with a three dimensional flowery centerpiece made of tufted quills. Sweetgrass is wrapped around the rim of the lid and the base. The birchbark remains in excellent condition. Some of the quills have broken or come off. Some of the ties that hold the Sweetgrass to the box have loosened. The box measures 2.25" tall with the lid on. It measures 3" in diameter. We believe it was made around 1970. The Soapstone Seal belonged to a previous owner so it shows some scratches. The artist made it from soapstone and polished it. He neatly etched in the eyes, whiskers, flipper and tail. He also etched his name on the bottom - Paul Osee E6-243. It measures 4" long overall and 1.5" tall at the head. We were selling these items as a set. The Carving - Soapstone Seal is still available!
