Pottery - Northeast Style

This petite pottery jar features stamped and incised decorations.  These include triangles, diagonal lines, and dots.  You will find similar decorations on artifacts found in Native American sites in the Northeast. The potter made this jar from light colored clay. After imprinting decorations on the sides and rim, he or she then fired the pot.  You can see the discoloration from the heat.  The potter signed the bottom  NSS 2016. Because this jar is new, it remains in excellent condition. Because the potter made it in the historically accurate way, the jar is likely brittle. This jar stands 2.25" tall. The opening measures 2" in diameter. Use it as a decoration as is, or store small items or herbs in it! One of a Kind! Shop for more Pottery!
