Basket Hopi Style Coiled

Add this lovely Hopi Style Coiled Basket to your collection! You will enjoy the traditional colors: Natural, Black and Red that give this Basket its geometric design. Coiling is one of the techniques used by traditional Hopi Basket makers. These Basket makers wrap strips of Yucca leaves around bunches of grass or more Yucca leaves. Then they coil these wrapped ropes around themselves and stitch them with slender strands of Yucca leaf.  Some Hopi Indians still use traditional natural dyes. This Basket measures 8" in diameter across the top.  It has a bowl shape and stands 2" tall. A previous owner had this Basket on display.  It remains in excellent usable condition. One of a Kind!
