Ash/Sweetgrass Basket – Blue
Native American Ash & Sweetgrass Basket
This Ash & Sweetgrass basket is made from Black Ash & Sweetgrass. Sweetgrass braided into 1/8" braids weave around this eight inch round basket. A larger braid of sweetgrass adorns the top of this basket for the handle. Ash that has been dyed blue is used at the bottom of the basket. The dyed ash is also used to finish up the top rim. It was used with the weaving on the cover of this basket. The inside of this baskets retains the deep blue dye on the ash splints. But on the outside where is had been exposed to light the blue ash faded. It has been used, but is in very good condition. Measures 8" in diameter x 3" high.
