Beaded Watch Pocket and Pincushion
Crafters created these Whimsy Watch Pocket and Pin Cushion using Clear Seed Beads , and Basket beads.
For the center of the Watch Pocket it has a raised floral design using clear seed beads and a frosted round glass bead. There is Some bead loss, and staining on the back and front fabric.
The pin cushion/ needle case has a raised floral design using clear seed beads and Gray lined basket beads. The back has a circular design in clear seed beads and Green, Blue Basket Beads . This Pin Cushion/ needle case has a beaded handle. The fabric on the Inside of this piece you will see minimal staining, and this piece has bead loss.
The Whimsies do have bead loss and fading on the fabric.
It is a classic example of the Beaded Whimsy tourist souvenirs. Native American crafters in the border regions between Canada and the United States at the turn of the 20th century created many of these whimsies for the tourist trade.
