Quilled Slats Pair Purple & Red
Porcupine Quillwork on Pair of Wood Slats
These matched Quilled Wood Slats are ready to add to your project! The crafter used Natural, Purple and Red Porcupine Quills to create the striped design. He or she skillfully wrapped them around a pair of wood slats that are about 1/4" wide. The slats have one rounded end and one pointed end. Both ends have holes in them you can use to attach them to your project.Porcupine quillwork is an art form that Native Americans use to decorate accessories like moccasins and bags and birchbark containers. They also wrap them around feather quills, rawhide strips and pipe stems. This quilled slat measures about 11 3/8" long x 1/4" wide. They came from a collection. You will see a couple of small breaks on one of them, otherwise the quillwork is in good condition. One of a Kind!
