Two‑Row Horn Choker with Etched Bone Pendant

This Choker- Two Row Horn comes with a unique combination of Buffalo tubes and Buffalo hairpipe.  Master craftsman Andy Bullock created it using Braintanned deerskin leather lacing.  He added trans light blue, light blue and white center cranberry Crow beads, Brass beads and Braintanned Deerskin leather spacers. The front drop features a 1.25 bone pendant with two birds etched in to it. This Choker measures approx. 14.5″ long.  The Braintanned leather ties are 12″ long.  The drop extends 5 inches. A faint maker’s mark appears on the back of the pendant, though it can no longer be distinguished.

One of a Kind.

Bone chokers hold a long and meaningful place in Native American culture. Artisans crafted them from bone hair pipes, leather, shell, and later glass beads. Warriors wore these chokers as protective adornments that symbolized strength, status, and spiritual resilience. The width and number of rows often signaled rank or ceremonial importance. Beyond protection, bone chokers expressed identity and honored the animals whose materials shaped them. They also strengthened the wearer’s connection to ancestral traditions. Over time, the form grew into a widely recognized cultural emblem. In keeping with this legacy, contemporary artists continue to create bone chokers that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics while preserving their deep cultural significance.
