Drum- Taos Style

This one-of-a-kind Taos-style double-headed drum delivers a distinctive sound that reflects its handcrafted origins. The artisan shaped the frame from cottonwood and tightly bound rawhide rounds to each end using rawhide lace, which he knotted into a practical handle. He left the rawhide in its natural state, preserving its organic texture and tone. The maker inscribed “Cochiti Ray NM” in marker directly onto the side of the drum. It stands 5 inches tall with heads measuring approximately 4.75 inches across, though not perfectly round.  You will find this drum in new condition, ready to be played or proudly displayed.

One of a Kind.
