A crafter created this Whimsy Picture Frame 2 with cream colored fabric on the Front. This antique whimsy is a very nice piece. The artist chose transparent Pony Beads and basket beads for the raised Botanical design and the border around the frame. Pink silk covers the back and the inside of the picture opening.
This frame is a classic example of a Beaded Whimsy tourist souvenir. Native American crafters in the border regions between Canada and the United States at the turn of the 20th century created many of these whimsies for the tourist trade. This Whimsy came from a previous owner. It remains in nice condition for its age. You will see some bead loss on the bottom and a few of the fringe stands are broken. On the side the beading around the edge has come apart. This Beaded Whimsy will make an unusual addition to your antique or whimsy collection!
The Whimsy Picture Frame measures approx. 7.5″ tall x 5″ wide not including the beaded loops on the bottom. The picture opening measures 3″ x 2″. One of a kind!
