Inflated Bison Bladder

This large Bladder- Inflated Bison measures approximately 10 inches long and 6 inches wide.  It is an example of traditional bladder processing.  Native Americans historically dried and inflated buffalo bladders for use as lightweight, durable containers.  They used them to hold water or to serve as practical storage bags.   Quillworks used flattened, dried bladders to hold porcupine quills. Collectors will appreciate its size, preservation, and direct connection to historic Indigenous utility practices.

One of a Kind.
